The First Annual Valentine card make and take. This Free workshop is for those 2 to 102 years of age. Join us and make a card for a loved one or someone in the service. We will provide basic supplies but feel free to bring your own scissors, and any valentine themed rubber-stamps, stencils, ribbon or other items you would be willing to share and then take back home.
The card make and take is for Meridian Woods Park residents only and will take place on February 9th from 1:00 to 2:30at the clubhouse. Light snacks will be provided. For questions please call Elaine Bishop from 10am to 6 pm. Come join in the festivities!
We are looking for interested neighbors to join the board!
Our annual meeting is quickly approaching on March 9th at 7pm. At this meeting we vote in new board members. We’d love to have you join the board! Please send Heather (firstname.lastname@example.org) a small bio if you are interested in joining the board.
We will have 3 positions open up for this year, each position is a 3 year term and meetings are held monthly on the second Monday of each month. If you can’t make a meeting – that’s ok! We understand life happens and the board will fill you in after the meeting.
We look forward to seeing you on March 9th at 7pm.
BREAKFAST WITH SANTA
Our MWP Annual Breakfast with Santa will be held on 12/14/19 from 9am – 10:30am. This is a correction from the newsletter and the Facebook post that was previously shared. We had a snafu with the Facebook Event and had to change the time of the event.
Please join us at the clubhouse for a quick bite to eat and to see Santa! Make sure to bring your camera as we do not have a photographer present.
This event is for MWP residents and their guests ONLY.
Please do not use tape to hang things in the clubhouse. When you remove the tape part of the paint goes with it and sometimes the tape is left behind for someone else to clean up.
We just had the clubhouse repainted last week and we would like it to remain looking fresh and new for everyone to enjoy!
If there is tape left after your rental or if paint is removed from a painted surface, we will have to keep your deposit.
As a reminder:
I am out of the office until 10/21/19. I will be working remotely and answering emails intermittently during this time. Please feel free to email any questions/concerns during this time and I will get back with you as soon as I can.
If you need to get a hold of someone immediately, please contact any board member.
The office will be closed Wednesday 8/28/19 and Monday 9/2/19.
The office will be open 9/3/19 from 4pm – 8pm and 9/4/19 from 9am – 2:30pm.
The annual MWP Golf Outing is quickly approaching. It will take place on 8/31/19. As always, there will be a catered dinner after the event. This is a great event to get to know our neighbors better and all are welcome to join (even if you have no golfing experience)! Please make sure to fill out your RSVP form as soon as possible so we can have an accurate count for the catering and teams.
Fri: noon-7pm Sat: 11am-7pm
Many of you are aware that the pool has been closed for the past week. (Very, unfortunately, the hottest week of the year!!) In order to operate a pool like ours, we have to submit water samples to a lab for testing weekly. Our water has always been spot on, but in the last few weeks, we have had issues with one marker that the health department checks: Heterotrophic Bacteria. Heterotrophic bacteria itself poses no risk to humans, however, it is an indicator that the water COULD support other problems such as ecoli (although our ecoli test results were clear). Throughout the week, one of the board members who oversees pool operations spent hours and hours cleaning, scrubbing, filling, and shocking the pool to get the test results we needed. He was able to get the water back to acceptable test levels, but not until Thursday, and the process with the lab and health department takes 48 hours, unfortunately putting us to today (Monday the 22nd) before the health department will be open again to give us the ‘all clear’. We have continued to monitor the water purity and have had a local pool company continue to tell us the levels are good, we’re just waiting on the county and hope to be back up and running ASAP.
We’ll take this opportunity to thank everyone for their patience and remind everyone that the pool belongs to all of us that are homeowners in the Meridian Woods Park community. Aside from the paid lifeguards and their summer manager, the pool is overseen by a volunteer board member. If any of you community members have experience working with pools, even a residential pool or hot tub or know someone who does, and would be willing be part of a small team of volunteers to help navigate these kinds of issues, please send us a message. We really hope in the next year to build some teams within the neighborhood to help take care of and manage the things that make our community great!
The neighborhood pool will be closed throughout the weekend of July 20th and 21st. The soonest it may open is Monday, July 22nd. Updates will be posted here on meridianwoodspark.com and the facebook page as they are known.
